Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - A northeast Rochester house was hit by several bullets early Tuesday and one passed over a sleeping teenager.

Officers were called to the residence at 3108 E. River Rd at 3:45 AM and learned there were nine people in the home, including a 3-year-old child.

Police says one of the 4 or 5 bullets that entered the house went over the head of a 17-year-old who was sleeping in a lower level family room. Officers found seven spent shell casings near the home. They had been fired by a 9mm handgun.

Officers were told a dark-colored vehicle was seen speeding from the scene, driving east on 31st St.

The occupants told police they had moved to the home from the Twin Cities a few months ago and have no idea why they were targeted. Lt. Mike Mike Sadauskis says it’s believed the house was targeted and that it was not a random shooting.
