Zumbrota, MN (KROC-AM News) - Motorists are being advised they will encounter shoulder closings on Highway 52 between Zumbrota and Cannon Falls beginning Monday.

The Minnesota Department of Transportation says the work should impact the driving lanes, but motorists are urged to be extra cautious and to slow down while passing through the work zones. A news release says crews will be boring potential bridge and wall foundation locations.

The project is expected to be completed in three weeks. The borings will be used for planning the reconstruction of southbound Highway 52 next year. The larger project will include a new interchange at the junction with Highway 57 and the replacement of existing bridges.
