Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - Some area teenagers who have been keeping officers busy all summer were at it again Tuesday.

The group includes teenagers from Rochester, Byron and Mantorville who have been arrested or connected to a series of vehicle thefts.

Tuesday’s incident happened in Rochester when an officer stopped a vehicle reported stolen from Winona. The driver was a 17-year-old from Mantorville. He was later turned over to his parents. Three other teens in the car were detained.

One of them - a 15-year-old boy from Rochester - was arrested after he kicked an officer and spit in his face. He was identified as the same teenager who fought with an Olmsted County deputy last month during a stolen vehicle incident in Byron.

The deputy suffered a serious shoulder injury and underwent surgery Monday.

He is not expected to return to patrol duty for several months.
