Last night, KFIL broadcasted the 3 Rivers girl's basketball game between Kingsland and St. Charles. It was Senior Night, and the SC seniors were treated to more of a roast than a sendoff. It was well done! The Kingsland Knights started strong in the first couple possessions, but the tables turned quickly in favor of the Saints. An 11-0 run and a later 13-3 run pushed St. Charles ahead, and they took a 13-point lead into the half. The two teams battled even in the second half, as Kingsland was unable to get the big run they needed to swing momentum in their favor. The final score was 58-45 as the Saints completed the season sweep, snapping a short 3-game skid. The Saints seniors tallied 43 of their 58 points. Kingsland does not have a senior on the roster.

The “Player of the Game” awards went to junior Gracie Schmidt (11 points) of the Knights, and senior Jenna Ihrke (10 pts, averaging 4 per game, 2 assists off the bench) of the Saints.

The “Game Ball” was awarded to senior Anna Hershey (13 points, averaging just under 6, two assists) of St. Charles.

Next up is playoff action in boy's basketball! Section 1A East quarterfinals. Fillmore Central at Wabasha-Kellogg on Cool 104 & kvgo1043.com and Kingsland at Houston on KFIL & kfilradio.com. Pregame for both set at 6:45. Both also available on a smartphone with our free RadioPup app.
