Rochester Woman, Spring Valley Man Hurt In Rain-Related Crashes
Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - The rain that fell Tuesday played a role in a number of traffic accidents, including one in Rochester.
The Minnesota State Patrol says a car driven by 64-year-old Alan Dungan of Spring Valley crashed on Highway 52 around 4:30 pm. The State Patrol says he was driving south when his vehicle “hydroplaned and crashed into the median wall.” He was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Another “hydroplane” crash was reported on I-90 in Austin Tuesday evening and sent an infant to the hospital. The State Patrol says the baby girl was a passenger in a car driven by a 21-year-old Racine Wisconsin woman that crashed into the median wall after sliding out of control in heavy rain. The crash was reported around 7:45 PM. The driver was not hurt and the infant’s injuries were described as non-life-threatening.
A Rochester woman was hurt in a crash while driving on a wet road in northern Minnesota near Brainerd.
The State Patrol says 70-year-old Kathleen Larsen was driving on Highway 10 near the town of Cushing around 11:00 am when she “lost control on the wet roadway and went off the road and hit the trees.” She was wearing a seatbelt and suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
