Rochester Mom Goes Live on Instagram to Show What It’s Like to Work From Home (VIDEO)
Every.Single.Afternoon...this happens.
Hey...Jessica here. Just wondering if anyone else is out there in the world and attempting to work from home while "life" is going on at your home? Kids. Dogs. Laundry. Dirty dishes in the kitchen. Because according to most of the Facebook and Instagram posts I'm seeing, people appear to be working in absolute calm environments that are decorated by some master organizer and everything has a place. I know I'm not the only one out there with kids and dogs and am just wondering if what I'm seeing online is real or are people getting paid to look like they've got it all under control. Do you even live in that house? Because I gotta say...that's not my life...at all.
Today, I'm going to give you a little example of the loudness that I call "home". Just watch the video...
I know that living during COVID-19 has been stressful and there are days when we feel completely out of control. Heck, there are days when we wear the same clothes two days in a row and don't have time for a shower...even though we are home 24/7. But just know, a lot of what you are seeing online is not the real stuff. Please don't compare your life to those who are showcasing a fake reality. Some people do have it all together but most moms, we have clutter, we have days when the dishes pile up and there isn't much we can do about it right now because a kiddo needs us. And trust me, that laundry never stops. N-E-V-E-R
I just wanted to let you know...I know. After I'm done with my show on Y-105FM and cutting commercials I head home to work. I sit at my dining room table with my kids, and my dogs, and my husband hanging out at a computer not far from where I am in the house.
Soon, they will all want to know what miracle meal is going to be created in the kitchen. The truth is...I have no idea! Maybe I'll pull out that Instant Pot I bought but have no idea how to use and try those hard-boiled eggs again. My family will be so happy. Well, they will be happy I made something but probably not for that meal. #LetTheComplainingBegin
ICYMI - Every day, I do a little Car Chat on my Facebook page - Jessica On The Radio and on Instagram where I chat really fast about three things to know about the day. And yes, I do this in my car, so you can actually hear me. #BecauseWorkingFromHomeStruggles
