Yesterday was his last broadcast here in southeast Minnesota.

It's the end of the road here in Rochester for (now former) KTTC Chief Meteorologist Matt Benz. Wednesday was his last day at the Med City's NBC affiliate, and the station noted his last day in a post on its Facebook page yesterday.

Matt had been tackling the evening weather chores at KTTC for the last three years, arriving here in southeast Minnesota back in June of 2016, after longtime Chief Meteorologist Randy Brock announced he was leaving.

Matt had announced that he was leaving us earlier this spring. Now, being a starter TV market (one where newly-minted multi-media journalists typically spend their first few years on the job after college before leaving for larger markets), we're used to seeing faces come and go on the local TV news.

So what's Matt doing? Well, he's heading east-- but not necessarily for a new job in a bigger TV market, though. He said he's moving to Pennsylvania where his fiancee lives-- and is getting ready for their wedding later this summer.

Best of luck, Matt! We'll miss you here in Minnesota's Med City!
