Rochester Man Charged With Attempted Murder for Attack on Wife
Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - A Rochester man who attacked his wife with a hammer was arraigned Friday on attempted 1st-degree murder and 2nd-degree assault charges.
Conditional bail for 65-year-old Joseph Kinyanjui was set at $500,000 and he was ordered back to court for another hearing May 22nd.
Officers were called to Kinyanjui’s home Wednesday evening by his daughter who fled after the attack began on her mother. Officers were forced to use their tasers on Kinyanjui when he refused to stop hitting his wife on the head with the hammer.
As of Friday evening, there was no update on her medical condition although her injuries were initially described as life-threatening.
