Retail Giant Announced That 68 Stores are Closing Including 2 in Minnesota
Amazon announced on Thursday, March 3rd that they are closing 68 stores throughout the country including 2 in Minnesota.
A statement made by Amazon indicated that they would be shifting their brick and mortar strategy, which was started back in 2015 with a campus store for students and grew into additional stores as well as purchasing Whole Foods. The shift unfortunately will be ending jobs for 68 retail locations, including 2 in Minnesota.

Below are the retail stores that will be closing over the next few months.
- All Amazon Books stores
- Amazon 4-star stores including the following in Minnesota:
- 1595 Highway 36 W, Ste 195, Roseville, MN 55113
- 153 South Avenue, Bloomington, MN 55425, 1st floor of the Mall of America
- Pop Up stores
Amazon will continue to remain in the retail industry with a focus on the following stores in Minnesota, Iowa, Illinois, Wisconsin, and throughout the United States

Amazon is continuing in the retail space that has a focus on groceries as well as other retail stores featuring apparel. Whole Foods and Amazon Fresh will remain open.
Amazon did state that they will be helping the employees that are impacted by the store closings find new roles within the company. Hopefully, all employees will find a new role in the company that fits with their skills and talents.
