Remains of Wabasha County Man Killed at Pearl Harbor Identified
Washington, DC (KROC-AM News) - A burial service has been scheduled in the spring for a young man from southeastern Minnesota who died in the service of his country on what became known as the "Day of Infamy."
Navy Seaman 2nd Class Lloyd R. Timm was assigned to the USS Oklahoma on December 7, 1941, and was among the 429 service members who perished when the battleship was torpedoed by Japanese attackers and sank in Pearl Harbor. Military forensic experts began testing the unidentified remains of the deceased from the USS Oklahoma in 2015 and were able to positively identify the remains of the 19-year-old man from Kellogg.
The burial service for Timm will take place on May 25th in Wabasha.
