Owatonna Restaurants Feel the Pain
The Owatonna Area Chamber of Commerce and Tourism (OACCT) states, "Restaurant Pain is Real," in their weekly e-newsletter Tuesday Talk. "In a recent survey conducted by the OACCT with member bar/restaurants, losses are mounting."
"Sixty-two percent of responding restaurants say that take out is partially or not at all covering their expenses of operation. They unanimously replied that take out or gift cards are the best way for locals to support their business."
The Owatonna chamber is still running their Take-Out Challenge to promote local eating establishments and give participants a chance to win Chamber Bucks.
Chamber President Brad Meier blogged on the Federal stimulus package for businesses in Tuesday Talk, saying the package, "restarts the Paycheck Protection Program, fills the SBA's Emergency Injury Disaster Loan program, and allows for businesses to use more than one program."
In other notes from Tuesday Talk:
- The Chamber Ambassadors welcomed American Family Insurance-Mazariego Agency (122 South Oak) as a new member.
- The chamber invites businesses to host a Chamber After Hours event in 2021. They will help with a virtual format for the event. Openings include January and March.
- Shields of Steele "continues to have supplies available for local businesses during the pandemic." Email firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
