Rochesterfest kicks off this weekend and an important site to visit is the Rochester Field of Flags For our Heroes June 21 - 26, 2021, at Soldiers Field Memorial Park.

"Join us in honoring our American heroes with a flag sponsorship. These flags are meant to honor all Americans, including military soldiers, first responders, and our heroes of the pandemic." (Olmsted County)

The list of people who helped out communities during the pandemic is long: educators, medical and public safety personnel, truck drivers, child care professionals, convenience store employees, and more.

On KTTC Sheriff Kevin Torgersen said,

"All these other people were equally as heroic and important throughout the last fifteen, sixteen, eighteen months related to the pandemic, certainly, as law enforcement, or firefighters and such. This is our way of going back to them and saying, 'You guys really made it happen.'"
