One Killed, Two Seriously Hurt In Traffic Crash In NE Minnesota
Ely, MN (KROC AM News) - A woman was killed and two men were seriously injured in a two-vehicle traffic crash in northeast Minnesota Thursday.
The deadly wreck happened just before 5:00 pm in rural St Louis County near Ely.
The Minnesota State Patrol says a pickup truck was driving north on Highway 1 when an oncoming small SUV crossed the centerline and the two collided.
The State Patrol says the SUV was driven by 38-year-old Ryan Reid of Superior, Wisc. He suffered life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the truck was identified as 74-year-old Robert Baier of Ely. He suffered non-life-threatening injuries. There were two passengers in the truck. 72-year-old Patricia Marsnik of Ely was killed. The other passenger - 80-year-old Raymond Marsnik of Ely - suffered life-threatening injuries.
The State Patrol report indicates there was ice and snow on the road.
