Newest Graduates of the Minnesota State Patrol Are Pretty Cute…and a Little Furry (PHOTO)
Huge congrats to the newest graduates of the Minnesota State Patrol!
Three new K-9 teams graduated our handler school last week and hit the roads. Sgt. Scott Schneider and K-9 Amon will be working in the east metro, Trooper Jacob Ristau and K-9 Maty will be in the Rochester district, and Trooper Jacob Bredsten and K-9 Jery will work in the Brainerd area. All three dogs are Belgian Malinois trained in narcotic detection. - Minnesota State Patrol Facebook Page
What does a trained K-9 do? According to the Minnesota State Patrol's website, the dogs "are trained to sniff loaded semi-trailers by walking on top of the cargo, or by squeezing through gaps in the cargo, to check the entire length of the trailer." One of the benefits of having a K-9 available is that it takes the trained K-9 far less time to do the work when compared to a human performing the same task.
Thank you for all that you do and congrats to the newest graduates of the Minnesota State Patrol!
