Mississippi Bluff Boulder Smashes Into Car Near Wabasha
Wabasha, MN (KROC-AM News) - A Red Wing teenager apparently escaped serious injury, but likely had a pretty good scare Friday when her car was hit by a boulder falling from a bluff along the Mississippi River.
The State Patrol says the incident occurred just after 4:30 PM on Highway 61 about 5 miles north of Wabasha. The crash report indicates 17-year-old Sydney Flack was headed south in a Ford Focus when a boulder came off the side of the hill next to the scenic highway and smashed into the small car. The report does not provide any information about the size of the boulder.
Flack was transported to St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Wabasha with what were described as non-life threatening injuries.
