While the economic fallout caused by the pandemic has taken its toll on many businesses in Minnesota, it actually helped Target have a record year in 2020. And they're passing that goodwill on to their employees again.

When they say business has been booming for Minnesota-based Target, they're not kidding. Would you believe that Target made more money last year than it ever has before, and more than the last 11 years...combined?!?

That's the word from this Associated Press story that says when you add up the profits from Target's four quarterly reports in 2020, profits for the Minneapolis-based retailer were up $15 billion-- which is more than the profits from the last 11 years put together.

Those stellar results have continued here in 2021, as well, and as a result, the bullseye just said it's giving out yet another round of bonuses to all its employees. According to CBS-Minnesota, Target announced Thursday that it’s giving all its frontline team members a $200 bonus, awarding them for “showing up bigtime” over the last six months.

If you're scoring along at home, that would be the SIXTH bonus Target has handed out to its employees since the pandemic started 15 months ago. And for a little context, those six bonuses amount to more than 75 million dollars Target has returned to its employees!

This story in Chain Store Age quoted Target's HR executive, who explained why the company is offering up another bonus:

'Our team members continue to deliver each and every day for our guests and one another,' Melissa Kremer, Target’s chief human resources officer, said in the story. 'Our culture, strategy and success would not be possible without our incredible team at the center of it all,' she noted.

The move is in line with Target's strategy of trying to treat their employees well and comes after they moved last year to permanently increase their minimum wage to $15 an hour. So, yeah, a job at Target can certainly pay pretty well. But is it one of the highest-paying jobs in Minnesota? Keep scrolling to see which ones are!
