Minnesotans Can Help A Furloughed Worker By Sending Them Beer!
We're currently undergoing the longest government shutdown in U.S. history, with seemingly no end in sight as of this writing. And if you're a federal employee who still has to show up for work without getting paid, that sucks. Imagine, for one moment, having to work for weeks on end without receiving a pay check. Imagine still having to pay rent and bills while supporting your family. That is obviously a very stressful situation to be in.
So while we can't really do anything to reopen the government from Rochester, there is a way we can still show our support to the hardworking men and women who are working without pay: Buy them a beer, of course!
Thanks to the website PayItFurloughed.com, you can actually send a furloughed federal worker a tasty brew of your choosing. According to the website, "Beer makes everything better, so we're buying local craft brews for federal employees impacted by the government shutdown."
Now that's a cause I can get behind! If you're feeling generous, you can send out one beer for $7.50, two for $15, or a six-pack for $45. Furloughed employees just have to show their federal I.D. at participating breweries to pick up a much-deserved cold one. Cheers!
