Minnesota Town Lights Up with Beautiful Holiday Display in 2 Weeks
There are tons of holiday light displays around Minnesota this time of year. And there's one in Stillwater, Minnesota that I really want to check out. It's their annual Wintertime in Stillwater event and it kicks off the day after Thanksgiving.
During the holiday season, Wintertime in Stillwater is holiday-themed but they stay open after the holiday season is over. That's why it's called Wintertime in Stillwater and not something like The Holiday Season in Stillwater. Wintertime in Stillwater is actually open through March, so if you can't get there for the holidays, there's plenty of time to still see their cool display.
On Discover Stillwater's website, they say that the event turns the town into a winter wonderland. They line the tops of their historic buildings downtown with lights, the historic lift bridge will be all lit up, and on Chestnut Street, there will be a light display set to music that happens every night. For the holiday season specifically, there will be Biercycle caroling tours, horse-drawn carriage rides, an elf takeover, and a twinkle party.
After the holidays, starting in January, there will be an ice palace maze that has "an ice slide, ice bar, and bonfire warm-up areas, an outdoor riverside ice skating rink, and a Frozen Flannel Bonspiel Curling Tournament." Also in January is the World Snow Sculpting Championship! That happens January 18th - 23rd if you wanted to check it out. Then in February, there are events like Winterfest and a frozen bocce ball tournament.
There's even more than that all of that happening at Wintertime in Stillwater! You can see all of the events on their website. I think I need to plan a trip to Stillwater to check this out, it sounds so fun!
Another amazing holiday light display to check out is Sam's Christmas Village! Keep scrolling for more details and pictures.
