Minnesota Student Arrested For Threat to Kill People at School
Norwood Young America, MN (KROC-AM News) - A 17-year-old student was arrested this morning at a high school in a small town southwest of Minneapolis and is expected to be charged with plotting to murder at least eight people at the school.
The McLeod County Chronicle is reporting that Carver County Sheriff's deputies arrested the teenager after receiving a tip about the alleged threats. He was taken into custody without incident.
According to a news release from the Carver County Sheriff's Office, a 17-year-old boy admitted he made the threat and admitted filing a crime tip with the Sheriff's office. Officials noted the teenager did not have any weapons in his possession and no weapons were found at Central High School.
The newspaper reported the school was not put in lockdown and classes continued as scheduled.
