Minneapolis Infant Killed In Alcohol-Related And Bizarre Crash
Brooklyn Center, MN (KROC AM News) - A one-year-old child died in an alcohol-involved and bizarre traffic crash in the Twin Cities.
The Minnesota State Patrol says an SUV driven by a Minneapolis man was driving on DuPont Ave. in Brooklyn Center around 230 am Sunday when the crash occurred.
According to the State Patrol report, the vehicle “struck the barrier and flipped over the fence landing in the lanes of Eastbound 94 below.”
There was one other adult and four children in the vehicle, including the infant who was killed. The State Patrol report indicates the child may have been “unbelted/unrestrained.”
The driver was identified as 25-year-old Hakeem Miller, who suffered non-life-threatening injuries. The State Patrol report says alcohol was involved.
The other adult was identified as 25-year-old Sharonda McMorris of Minneapolis. She also suffered non-life-threatening injuries, as did the surviving children. Two are 9-years-old, the other is 5-years-old.
Hennepin County jail records indicate Miller is being held on criminal vehicular homicide and injury charges.
