Hunters in Southeast Minnesota must be aware of the mandatory testing being down on all deer during the deer hunting season that kicks off this weekend.

I had a chance to chat with Minnesota DNR Area Wildlife Supervisor Mike Tenney, and did a great job of explaining what CWD is.

Hunters in Southeast Minnesota need to know what is happening, so they bring the right sample and keep everything going smoothly.

How big is the testing area? A large portion of Southeast Minnesota is in the testing zone, and some zones have a longer testing period.

At the end of the day, the DNR's website is the best place to go to find all the information you need that is pertains to you and your hunting area. You can get all that information at HERE.

No go out there, get the trophy buck, and don't forget to get it tested for Chronic Wasting Disease.
