May is Mental Health Awareness Month, and I hope it is obvious that mental health is an extremely important topic.

I'm taking this month as an opportunity to focus on some much-needed self-reflection. I'm pleased to see other businesses dedicating some time to embrace this month.

OMNI Brewing Co. introduced a West Coast Style IPA called "Things We Don't Say IPA" on Monday, May 3rd. The brewery will be donating $1 for every pint sold in the taproom and every crowler taken to-go.

The Lead Brewer Tim, who brewed this beer, and his wife Sheila, who is the lead bartender at OMNI, will personally be donating $0.25 for every pint sold in the taproom as well.

This project was launched to help shift the stigma of mental health. This project is meant to encourage people to share their positive and negative feelings and experiences. It is important to know you can ask for help when you need it.

The proceed will be donated to Hope For The Day's proactive suicide prevention and mental health education programming. Over 150 breweries in five different countries are involved in this project. Eagle Park Brewing Company, Malteurop Malting Company, Hollingbery & Son are just a few in the movement.

If you're not a beer drinker, no worries. You can still support the cause by buying one of the T-shirts workers at OMNI are sporting this month on Hope For The Day's website.

The U.S. Census 2019 American Community Survey and America's Health Rankings Senior Report 2019 data were also used to provide demographics on the senior population of each state and the state's rank on senior health care, respectively.
