Kingsland’s Size Leads To Win Over Fillmore Central
The Kingsland Knights used their size advantage very well, as they got a combined 33 points between their two starting forwards. The bigs led the ways as Kingsland knocked off Fillmore Central 70-42 in Preston.
Kingsland used an 18-5 run to finish off the first half to take a 38-24 lead into the break. When the run started, the Falcons had just cut the lead down to one. It was the combination of Matthew Woods and Ian Meisner who led the way for the Knights, as Woods finished with 19, while Meisner finished with 14 points and an unofficial 13 rebounds.
The Knights continued to impress in the second half, using great guard play from Wyatt Pruter and Zach Bubany to get the ball to Meisner and Woods where they could be successful.
The Falcons struggled to slow down the Knights offense, but in the first half, they did a great job of attack the rim and then hitting outside shots. Luke Ristau was big for them in the first half, has his jumper was feeling it. He finished with 12 points.
The Falcons could never cut into the halftime lead, trailing by 20 with 8 minutes left in the game. The Knights shutdown the dribble entry from the Falcons and it forced the Falcons to hit outside shots. The Knights were able to clean the glass and get the win.
