"We don't do enough fishing." That was a common phrase said throughout my house in the summer. With practices, work, tournaments and everything else that goes along with a busy summer in Southeast Minnesota. Sometimes we just got to slow down and dip our pole in the water.

This weekend is a great opportunity (if the weather holds off) to take a kid fishing. Anyone over the age of 16 can take anyone under the age of 15 fishing for the weekend without a license.

This is a great opportunity to get kids who may have never gone fishing before, a chance to experience it. So many memories can be built in the boat, on the shore or just casting off the dock.

Not to forget, Minnesota State Parks are also free this Saturday, so you best bring your pole when you go and check them out. You might just reel-in the big one.
