We are only 5 months into the year, but the stats aren't looking good for Davenport.  And really, it's not looking good for the entire state of Iowa, as burglaries are pacing ahead of 2025 for the entire state.

Yes, there is still time for things to change, but historically, we are heading into the worst time of year for crime.  Summer.

Studies show that many summer factors contribute to an increased crime rate.

Higher temperatures heighten agitation.  Longer daylight hours mean people spend more time outside and away from their homes.  When school is on break, unsupervised youth have more time to do dumb things.

Nationwide, crime increases 10% to 35% during the summer months.  So you can expect these numbers to quickly increase in the next few months.
