The study found that, on average, people spend $174 per grocery trip. Smaller households typically spend $131, while larger families spend about $262 per visit. Most people go grocery shopping about six times a month, which adds up to a lot of money. Even though everyone buys different things, there's one item that people in Minnesota buy more than anything else.
