A Cool New Camping-Themed Bar Has Opened in the Corridor
Then next time you're out and about in Iowa City, you may want to stop by the Ped Mall's newest bar! According to an article from The Daily Iowan, CAMP has officially opened its doors at 217 Iowa Ave.
CAMP's website says that they are "a classic, cozy, & chill bar that is inspired by Midwest dives, and channels camps, cabins, & time in the woods." The interior is decked out with all sorts of outdoorsy decor, like wood-paneled walls, fake plants, lanterns, vintage coolers, and old photographs. They even have a giant orange lawn chair for photo ops!
CAMP offers a number of signature beverages, including a cute little S'mores Shot topped with a Teddy Graham. They also serve Camp Water, which contains vodka, rum, blue curacao, raspberry schnapps, soda, and sprite, and is served in a fishbowl. As far as food goes, CAMP has a small menu that is served until midnight. It contains a burger, a grilled cheese, cheese curds, and loaded waffle fries.
To get into CAMP, customers have to enter through the alley between George’s Best Gyros and another new bar/restaurant called Scout's Honor. The Daily Iowan reports that one of CAMP's owners Nick Carroll is also the owner of Scout's Honor, which is set to open this week. The menu there will focused on pizza and frozen cocktails.
CAMP is now open Wednesday through Sunday from 7 p.m. to 2 a.m. You can check out their official Facebook page for the latest updates HERE.
