Wrong Way Driver Killed in Crash at Busy Minnesota Intersection
Coon Rapids, MN (KROC-AM News) - One person was killed in a head-on collision Tuesday evening in Anoka County.
A news release from the Anoka County Sheriff's Office says the deadly crash was reported around 5:45 PM in Coon Rapids. It involved a smaller vehicle and a pickup truck.
The initial investigation found that the smaller vehicle was traveling east in the westbound lanes of Main Street in Coon Rapids when it collided with the westbound pickup. The driver of the smaller vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene.
An adult man and the juvenile boy were in the pickup. The Sheriff's Office says both suffered minor injuries although the adult male was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
The names of the deceased motorist and the injured parties have not been released.
