The State Patrol says an SUV, driven by 76-year-old Duane Foulkes of Beaver Dam, WI, left the westbound lanes of I-90 about 15 miles east of the Winona exit shortly before 4 p.m. The vehicle then entered the ditch where it overturned.

One passenger in the vehicle, identified as 75-year-old Kathleen Foulkes, suffered what were described as life-threatening injuries. The crash inflicted non-life-threatening injuries for Duane and a second passenger in the SUV, identified as 64-year-old Mary Wellach of Juneau, WI.

All three of the occupants were brought to a hospital in La Crosse. Troopers say the road was dry and that everyone was buckled at the time of the crash. The Nodine Fire Department and Tri-State Ambulance also responded to the wreck.
