Rochester Man Accused of Sexually Abusing Children at Campground
Aitkin, MN (KROC-AM News) - A Rochester man was arraigned today in a northern Minnesota courtroom on child sexual assault charges.
The criminal complaint against 77-year-old Roy Duane Radke in Aitkin County charges him with two counts each of first-degree criminal sexual conduct involving two children. The charges allege the sexual abuse occurred at a campground in Aitkin County and at Radke's residence in Rochester.
Investigation Began Last June
The court document says the charges stem from an investigation launched last June after Aitkin County authorities were contacted by a Rochester police detective. The investigator indicated that police in Shakopee had received a report from the parents of two young girls that they had been sexually assaulted by Radke, who was considered a grandfather figure to the children.
Assaults Allegedly Occurred in Rochester and Aitkin County
According to the charges, the most recent alleged incidents of sexual abuse occurred in mid-June while the victims were staying with Radke in his camper in Aitkin County. The victims' parents told investigators that Radke and his wife had helped them with child care and that Radke had picked the girls up from daycare and taken them to the northern Minnesota campground without his wife.
The criminal complaint does not specify when the alleged abuse occurred in Rochester.

Refutes Allegations
When he was interviewed by investigators, the court document says Radke denied the allegations.
Following his arraignment today, Radke was released without bail pending his next court appearance, which is scheduled for June.
