Montevideo, MN (KROC-AM News)- One person was killed and four others were injured following a two-vehicle crash in western Minnesota

The crash happened in Chippewa County shortly before 4:20 p.m. Sunday. The tragic collision occurred along U.S. Hwy. 59, about 15 miles northwest of Montevideo. 

The State Patrol’s crash report indicates a southbound pick-up and northbound Jeep collided along the two-lane highway. The driver of the pick-up, identified as 35-year-old Curtis Dean Olson of Appleton, MN was pronounced dead at the scene.

A passenger in the pick-up, 39-year-old Amy Marie Olson of Appleton, MN, suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to a hospital in her hometown for further care.

A 13-year-old boy and 15-year-old boy who were also riding in the pick-up were also brought to the hospital in Appleton. Their injuries are being described as non-life-threatening.

The state report identifies the Jeep driver as 31-year-old Presley Lynn Boogaard. She suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was not transported from the scene for further care. 

The State Patrol says everyone involved in the deadly crash was buckled up. It’s unknown if alcohol was involved in the tragic incident.
