St. Paul, MN (KROC-AM News) - A Minnesota man has admitted to a federal charge stemming from the attempted armed robbery of a financial institution.

According to court documents, 29-year-old Jeron Marvin Lee Davis was arrested in February of last year after police in Maplewood responded to a report of an attempt to rob a credit union at gunpoint. The criminal complaint against the Lakeville man says the attempted hold up took place after the office was closed for the day on February 9, 2023.

Davis was accused of waiting until the manager closed the credit union before approaching the man as he was walking to his vehicle in the parking lot. At that point, prosecutors say he pointed a "pistol-grip assault rifle" at the credit union manager and forced him to reopen the building.

Court documents say Davis then ordered the manager to open the vault, but the manager explained that two employees were needed for the process of opening it. Before he accepted the explanation, Davis was accused of threatening to kill the manager. He finally left after he stole the manager's wallet.
