Thousands of Gallons of Water Used to Fight Rochester Area Fire
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- Firefighters used thousands of gallons of water to fight a Rochester area fire over the weekend.

Emergency responders were dispatched to the fire at a rural property around 5:30 p.m. on Saturday.
Olmsted County Sheriff’s Captain Tim Parkin said a caller reported hearing two explosions before finding a small structure engulfed in flames and the area around it on fire.
The fire broke out at a property in the 6500 block of 60th Ave. Southwest, which is about seven miles west of the Rochester Airport.
The Stewartville Fire Department and Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene and found two structures on fire. One of the buildings had already burned to the ground when the first crew from Stewartville arrived, the Stewartville Fire Department says.
Fire crews deployed 6,000 gallons of water to extinguish the blaze. Parkin says a small structure with a large deck, a Conex Box and an under-construction residence had been damaged by the fire.
The property owner estimated the damages at $30,000. No injuries were reported.
Parkin said a preliminary investigation conducted by the Stewartville Fire Department indicated nothing suspicious caused the fire.
