Forest Lake, MN (KROC-AM News)- A pair of teenage runners were airlifted to a hospital after being hit by a car at a Minnesota intersection Tuesday afternoon.

Preliminary information released indicates both teens were running with a group of juveniles. They were hit by the car shortly after 3:30 p.m. 

The State Patrol responded to the incident at the intersection of Hwy. 61 and 202nd St. in Forest Lake. A car traveling south on Hwy. 61 hit the boys while they were in the crosswalk, the state crash report says.

Both of the boys struck by the vehicle are 15 years old and are from Forest Lake. They were transported from the scene by a LifeLink Helicopter.

Their current conditions are not available. The State Patrol plans to release their names and more information regarding their medical status Thursday evening.

An 84-year-old man from Lindstrom was driving the car. Authorities plan to release his name and condition Wednesday afternoon. 

The preliminary report does not say how many juveniles were running in the group.
