Cold Enough? Wild South Dakota Woman Freezes Her Hair
Sioux Falls and South Dakota have been experiencing extremely cold temperatures and dangerous wind chills. This arctic blast is creating curiosity among Sioux Empire residents. And that curiosity led one local woman to try something bananas!
A South Dakota woman named Stephanie decided to attempt a hair-raising experiment with a 41-below windchill. Warning: Don't Try This At Home...Just Don't.
Stephanie wet her hair and ventured outside in the freezing South Dakota cold. In a viral TikTok video, Stephanie only stands outside for about 40 seconds until her hair is standing on its side! It's completely frozen solid! To Stephanie's surprise, her science project worked!
That's not all! Stephanie also froze her dinner! She took a bowl of pasta outside her home along with sauce to see how long it took to freeze them. I don't think this meal is edible! But at least it's a lot safer than freezing your hair.
We're not finished with these bitter-cold temperatures yet! Our friend and morning meteorologist Aaron Doudna with Dakota News Now says the Sioux Empire should expect these cold temperatures to stick around for a few more days.
His recommendation? Stay indoors and limit your time outdoors.
Wind Chill Warnings are in effect until noon Monday in northern and central South Dakota. We won’t see the Wind Chill Warnings for southeastern parts of the viewing area expire until noon on Tuesday. Dangerous wind chills will settle in with wind chills falling to the 20s, 30s, and even the 40s below zero. Make sure you have your winter survival kit packed in your and limit your time outdoors!
We’ll get a brief break from the dangerous cold next Tuesday through Thursday as we get into the teens for highs for many with our next chance of snow not until next Thursday.
