No shoes, no socks, no problem.

Driving a motor vehicle barefoot in Minnesota is legal, but Sgt. Troy Christianson from the Minnesota State Patrol says it's safer to drive with secured footwear on. He explained that crashes are sometimes caused by loose sandals or flip-flops that interfere with the brake and acceleration pedals. The driver’s side floor mat can also get stuck under the pedals so make sure it is secured down.

Christianson says another unsafe behavior that he frequently observes on the road is when the front seat passenger places their feet on the dashboard. This is one of my biggest pet-peeves! The trooper says this can be very dangerous and cause serious injury should the airbag deploy.
