If you are headed near Kellogg for the holiday weekend, you will be okay, but after that you will encounter a little detour beginning on July 10 on Highway 42.

The replacement of the bridge near the intersection of Highway 61 and Highway 42, according to MnDOT. The bridge over Gorman Creek will be replaced from July to October.

Local businesses along Highway 42 will be open and accessible by following signs along the detour route. Another detour connecting Highway 61 to Highway 42 by using Wabasha County Road 14 will be in place during construction.

The project includes work on grading, paving, bridge replacement and guardrail installation. Also, the concrete weir under the bridge will be replaced with a series of rock weirs.
