The CDC has recommended wearing masks when going to public places to help slow the spread of COVID-19.

It's important that you are wearing the mask correctly and washing it regularly. The CDC has tips for both. They say your mask should: "fit snugly but comfortably against the side of the face, be secured with ties or ear loops, include multiple layers of fabric, and allow for breathing without restriction."

Good Housekeeping has a report on people placing their masks in their microwaves to clean them. DO NOT DO THAT. Fire Fighters warn that is extremely dangerous and could lead to a kitchen fire. The CDC says cleaning your cloth mask is as easy as running it through your washing machine.
