Houston County Public Health & Human Services was notified Saturday that the Minnesota Department of Health confirmed a case of novel coronavirus disease, COVID-19, in Houston County.

According to a release from Houston County Public Health and Human Services, the patient is currently in isolation at home and is recovering and Houston County Pubilc Health & Human Services is working with MDH and health care partners to identify and contact all of those who may have come in contact with the infected patient.

The individuals will be asked to quarantine themselves for 14 days from their exposure and will be monitored for fever and respiratory symptoms.

On Sunday, Fillmore County was notified that the Minnesota Department of Health confirmed one new positive case of coronavirus disease. The latest case involves a female in her 60s, bringing the Fillmore County case count to ten.

The MDH reported that an 87-year-old Olmsted County resident was one of the five most recent victims of the coronavirus pandemic in Minnesota. There have now been 29 COVID-19 deaths statewide. This is the second Olmsted County resident to have died form COVID-19.
