Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - It appears suburbs on the eastern side of the Twin Cities were the hardest hit by the first major winter storm to hit southern Minnesota this season.

As of late Friday night, there were unofficial reports of 15-20 inches of snow in Woodbury and the National Weather Service was predicting snowfall totals of up to 15 inches in areas just south of the Twin Cities. The unofficial reports late Friday night have the snowfall totals in Burnsville at around a foot of new snow.

As of 11 PM, five inches of snow was reported in southwest Rochester while areas just to the north of the city had seen more than six inches of accumulation.
