Rochester Public Transit to End Bus Service Early on Friday Due to Winter Storm
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - Rochester Public Transit will be ending bus service early Friday due to expected hazardous road conditions.
According to a news release from City officials, Rochester Public Transit will be ending transit service on Routes 21-26 after the 7:45 p.m. outbound trips depart the Downtown Transit Center.
The last trip inbound to downtown on Route 25 will depart Walmart North at 7:50 p.m. and the last trip inbound on Route 26 will depart Walmart North at 8:08 p.m. Route 560X will complete its published schedule with the last trips departing St. Mary's at 8:15 p.m to Fairgrounds Park & Ride and departing Downtown Transit Center at 8:14 p.m. to IBM Park & Ride. No other trips scheduled to depart after 7:45 p.m will be running.
Transit customers should expect delays with the onset of snow this afternoon and are advised to plan ahead, consider an earlier trip, and follow the guidelines for riding in winter.
Rochester Public Transit prioritizes the health and safety of passengers, operators, and occupants of other vehicles when making the decision to suspend service. Transit service is expected to resume as scheduled on Saturday.

Travel Could Be "Very Dangerous to Impossible" in Southeast Minnesota
While parts of southeast Minnesota have already seen some light snowfall, heavy snow is forecasted for this afternoon into tonight. Total snow accumulation is expected to reach 9 to 12 inches in parts of southeast Minnesota.
The NWS says, "Travel could be very difficult to impossible." If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency."
