You have heard about the Loch Ness Monster, but did you know that Minnesota also has a monster? The Minnesota Dog-Man. There have been a few alleged sightings in northern Minnesota of this cryptid. Let's talk about some of them! All of these stories have been posted on Cryptid Wiki on Fandom. All three of these are from anonymous people so do with that what you will.

The first alleged sighting of this dog-man was just north of Duluth at an Air Force base in 1999. This anonymous guy says he was working the 3rd shift, which runs 10 PM - 6 AM. He said he was on a side of the base near a forest in the patrol truck (which is an F-150). As he was driving around he noticed a pair of eyes reflect back at him. The eyes were apparently the same height as his even though he was sitting in an F-105! Then whatever it was took off. He drove after it and only saw the back of the creature as it bounded into the forest. He says it looked wolf-like, it had huge back paws, a tail about 2 feet long, matted fur that was blonde/light brown, and he could hear it running through the forest and said it sounded like a moose it was so loud.

The next alleged sighting of the Minnesota Dog-Man is from Fergus Fall in 2009. This man was driving into town on a country road. He noticed on the side of the road three deer, so he stopped to look at them. Then he noticed a bizarre creature behind a tree watching the deer as if waiting for the right opportunity to pounce. He said that is appeared to be bipedal and what seemed to be once of the creature's hands was leaning on the tree and it looked like it had opposable thumbs. If the creature stood up it would probably be about 7 feet tall, according to this guy. He also said that it had "a protruding muzzle, broad shoulders, a slender waist, thick, [and] muscular thighs". Eventually, the deer ran off, and then the creature turned and looked at him! He got so freaked out he slammed on the gas and took off.

The finally alleged sighting took place in Long Prairie. They don't list a date but say it happened in the summer. The anonymous man says he was out hunting squirrels early one morning when he saw a "humanoid dog thing" sitting at the edge of the woods. He shot at it a couple of times, there was a yelp and whatever it was ran off. He called the police who came out to take a look. They found a few pawprints and eventually said it was probably just a wolf, but this anonymous guy wasn't totally convinced.
