A high-profile coach will be making his way to Rochester for the 15th annual Rochester Sports Banquet in early 2020.

Rochester Sports annouced that the Minnesota Gophers Volleyball Coach Huge McCutcheon will be the guest speaker at the 15th Annual Rochester Sports Banquet, which will be held on January 20th at the International Event Center.

McCutcheon is a native of Christchurch, New Zealand and is the former head coach of the US men's national volleyball team that won a gold medal at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing for the first time since 1988. He also coached the US women's national volleyball team to a silver medal at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London.

In McCutcheon's eight years as a head coach of the Golden Gophers, he has compiled a record of 190-48 and has made the Final Four twice.

“We are excited to have Coach McCutcheon as our guest speaker” shared Sports Banquet Executive Director Matt Esau. “Hugh has proven to be an accomplished leader in the sport of volleyball and will deliver a great message to those who attend the Rochester Sports Banquet” he added.

The Gopher Volleyball team holds a record of 20-4 on the 2019 season and are ranked no. 7 in the nation.
