Every fan of the Minnesota Vikings wants to forget what happened in the NFC Championship game this past January. It looks like we will be reminded of it often.

Reports say that the Minnesota Vikings will open up the 2018 NFL season against the reigning Super Bowl Champion Philadelphia Eagles, according to Pro Football Talk.

Yikes.

Yeah, the Vikings fell to the Eagles 38-7 on what was a brutal performance, and yet another example of the disappointment that follows being a Vikings fan.

It is not surprising that the NFL wants to make the Vikings vs. Eagles game the first game of the season. The Eagles are coming off their first Super Bowl Championship ever, it is a rematch of NFC Championship, and the Vikings landed the biggest Free Agent out there in Kirk Cousins.

The Eagles have been very active in the offseason, too, and still might be missing out on their starting QB Carson Wentz.

The last time the Vikings opens the season on that first Thursday of the NFL season, they got absolutely crushed by New Orleans Saints back to open the 2010 season after the Saints topped the Vikings in the 2009 season NFC Championship game.

The NFL will want a big ratings draw to open the season, and putting the Eagles against the Vikings in Philidelphia seems to be the best fit. Hopefully, the final score is much more respectable.
