Founders Day This Weekend!
Make the trip over to Caledonia this Saturday (or even Friday night) for Founders Day!
After I get done with work Friday, I will take a rest before doing what I often do during the warm months of the year (watch baseball). The current Caledonia Legion baseball team will be playing Caledonia alumni. As most alumni events are, it should be a lot of fun. First pitch for the game is scheduled for 7:00!
As for Saturday, at 10:00 until 7:00 is Semcac Stuff the Bus. If you are able to donate for the Houston County Food Shelf, you can get extra tickets to vote for your favorite car at the car show. So a good way to donate while you enjoy your weekend, and a way to enjoy the car show just a bit more. Speaking of the car show, you can see all your favorite cars, trucks, tractors, and motorcycles, from before 1960 through present, as the car show takes place from 11:00-3:00! Registration starts at 9:30 if you are interested in entering.
Also at 11:00, The Half Chicken Q dinner and the beer stand opens. If you're looking to get inside for a bit, you can play some bingo in the auditorium basement from 1:00-4:00. After that, the bean bag tournament begins at 4:00-make sure to register at the beer tent starting at 3:30! If we happen to be out of the rain on Saturday, the Firemens' water fights outside of the fire station should be most delightful time.
Other events during the day include kids activities from 11:00-3:00- There will be face painting, arts, obstacle course, Caledonia Robotic Warriors, Also, The Houston County Historical Society will be guiding a Historic Walk at 11:15, starting out in front of the Caledonia Post Office. Another thing I should mention is the sawdust pile at 2:30. If you're looking for music Beth Sauer and Tom Carpenter will be performing acoustic music from 3:00-7:00 on Main Street, then The El Caminos on Main Street from 8:00 to midnight! So a lot of music entertainment for your Saturday!
