If anyone gets how stressful Christmas is, I do! I love my family to death, but being cooped up with them all day can be really hard. Especially when you are living on top of each other because everyone is in town. I understand that sometimes you need to get out of the house for a few houses on Christmas day to keep your sanity. I have come up with five things to do on Christmas Day, to get you out of the house for a little while.

1. Go for a Walk

I'm realizing how cold it is here in Minnesota. But sometimes just getting some fresh air for like 15 minutes makes a huge difference. You could take your dog for a stroll around the neighborhood, or just go look at nature. It will give you some different scenery so you are refreshed.

2. Go See a Movie

A lot of movie theaters in Minnesota are running movies throughout the day on Christmas. Some of them are Christmas specials, but that is an option to get out of the house and do something fun with the family.

3. Go Check Out Lights

A lot of folks wait until way after Christmas to take their lights down. If you want to get out in the evening, you can drive around and check out one of the five best neighborhoods in Rochester for light displays.

4. Go do a Winer Activity

We live in a state where Winter activities are an important part of our life. Many of us love to go ice fishing, ice skating, skiing, snowboarding, and tubing. A  lot of these activities can be done on Christmas day in the afternoon after you spend time with family.

5. Go Get a Drink

Many of the bars are open on Christmas day. If you need to go get an adult beverage or two after spending the day with your family, you can definitely do that. Not all bars are open on Christmas day, but some of them are... and thank goodness for those that chose to stay open!

We hope that you have a fantastic Christmas and enjoy the time with your family!
