Fire Destroys Large Rural Olmsted County Building, Kills Two Cats
Oronoco, MN (KROC AM News) - A large building and its contents were wiped out by a fire that broke out Tuesday at a rural site north of Rochester.
The fire was reported around 11:30 am from the 8500 block of 11 Ave NW.
Fire crews arrived to find smoke coming from the roof of the building and it was soon engulfed in flames.
The 55 by 200-foot building contained two pickup trucks, a utility tractor, tools, and other items. The fire also killed two cats that had been in the building.
It’s not known when the fire started. Family members had gone to work earlier in the morning.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
Crews from Oronoco, Pine Island, and Rochester were involved in the firefighting effort.
