Fillmore County Fair Made For Busy Weekend
The Fillmore County Fair is now all wrapped up, and maybe now I'll rest a bit. With some fun grandstand events, I was hanging out in Preston even a bit more than usual. Here were some highlights from the weekend.
Friday night: Rodeo!
The Triple-B Rodeo put on a good show in the mud Friday night. It was a packed house!
The food!
I did my best to hit up about half of the vendors there. First stop was mini donuts and
prime rib! Then pork chop on a stick. Saturday, I was on the board while Bill was on air for the 4-H auction and got a bit hungry. I walked over to the fairgrounds for a pork burger and some ice cream, supporting both the Dairy and Pork Producers!
Then, I had to run to Lanesboro to lose a base ball game to Mankato before coming back to Preston.
Back to the Fair Saturday evening
Once I got back to town, I remembered there were animals to see. Some macaws, some wallabies, and a couple camels all showed up.
Of all the grandstand events, it seems
the demolition derby gets the biggest crowd. It was packed, so I was back out in the sun again. I needed a lemonade and just to sit inside for a while after a busy weekend. There was finally breakfast cereal eaten when I got home at night.
Now the Fillmore County Fair is over and done! What were your favorite parts?
