The Fillmore County Deputies Association issued a fraud alert on their Facebook page alerting residents of a possible scam.

The alert was about a company called "Road Maintenance" that was in the area south of Rushford and in the City of Rushford. According to the Facebook post, the company is attempting to sell very poor quality blacktop to homeowners in the area. They are also trying to have people purchase their products and services to cover their driveways, and once the service is complete, the company will increase the price to a higher amount than the original verbal agreement.

The Fillmore County Deputies received information from the Houston County Sheriff's Office and they have had similar incidents with the same company in Houston County.

Be aware, and contact your local sheriff's office if they come to your place, and do not give them money or any information.
