Fillmore County Apartment Engulfed With Flames

A fire engulfed an apartment in Fillmore County last night near the township of Prosper, according to the Fillmore County Sheriff's Office.

The fire occurred at 11048 Hwy 52 known as the Old State Line Motel or Prosper Apartments.

Fillmore County Sheriff Tom Kaase said the fire was contained in Apartment #5 of the Prosper Apartments, but the adjacent apartment sustained heavy smoke damage. Thankfully, there were no known injuries and everyone is accounted for.

Mabel and Canton Fire responded to the fire, as well as Harmony Ambulance. The State Fire Marshal will investigate the fire, while the Fillmore County Sheriff's Office will assist. The Fillmore County Sheriff's Office was notified by the Winneshiek County Sheriff's Office of the structure fire.
